Materials We Process

The right baler starts with the material. Scrap behavior, springback, geometry, and downstream furnace requirements determine which architecture performs. Logemann engineers systems around how materials respond under compression—not around generic machine categories.

Our role is upstream. We engineer feedstock before it reaches the furnace. Bale density, geometry, and integrity directly affect melt efficiency, shipping stability, and long-term scrap value. That’s why material comes first.

In-House Material Testing & Validation

Logemann operates three machines dedicated to material testing and development. We can process and evaluate virtually any scrap stream, including materials traditionally considered difficult or uneconomical to bale.

Recent validation work has included: 

  • Loose aluminum slitter scrap
  • Recycled tire steel
  • High-springback and irregular specialty scrap

If the material doesn’t behave well on conventional equipment, we test it and engineer a solution.
